Refuse Bin

Refuse

  • Collected Weekly
  • 140 Litre Bin as standard
  • Households of 5 or more can apply for a 240 Litre Bin

All suitable households will be provided with one 140 litre wheeled bin for their refuse, identified by a grey lid. Using a wheeled bin for your rubbish will eliminate litter and scavenger attacks. It still is advisable to contain all refuse in a plastic bag or sack.

Bulky items such as furniture, white goods, electrical goods, pots and pans etc should be re-used or recycled and taken to the HWRS (Household Waste Recycling Site). These cannot be collected via normal refuse collections. A chargeable collection service for bulky items is available.

You can cut down on your refuse by increasing the amount your household recycles and re-using items.

Larger Refuse Bin

If you have a large family (5 or more) and feel that a 140 litre bin is not sufficient for your needs, a larger bin can be provided, on request and assessment. Please fill in the request form on our Do It Online page.
