As you may be aware in the news, trade unions are planning to hold a series of strikes on 30th November 2011, which are likely to have a serious impact on the level of service provided on that day.
Please place your refuse and garden waste out as normal for collection and Adur and Worthing Council Services will collect whatever it can given the staffing resources available. If collection is not made on 30th November, please retain your refuse and garden waste until 7th December, when normal additional waste rules will be relaxed and all waste will be taken, even if not placed in your wheeled bin. Households expecting recycling collections on 30th November are requested to leave their bins available for collection as these will be collected on that day where possible and on a catch up basis on Thursday/ Friday as staffing resources allow.
Clinical and commercial waste services are will be unaffected. Street cleansing will be limited and deep cleaning planned for Downview Road and Boundary Road in Worthing will go ahead as planned.
It is possible that there will be last minute changes to these plans, so householders are advised to check our Facebook page for up to the minute service changes.
Please note that Household Waste Recycling Sites will remain open and are not affected by strike action.
