Christmas and New Year Arrangements 2011

 Household Refuse

Adur and Worthing Council Services will not be operating household refuse collection services on 26^th/ 27^th December or 2^nd January.  Please refer to the table below for your new collection days:

If in doubt please look up your collection day using the online ‘What is my Bin Day’ tool on the home page (http://www.aws.gov.uk/whatismybinday/).  For a complete picture of your collections you can use this tool to download your collection calendar from the results page. 

Please note that the bin day look up tool will be updated on 23^rd December at around 6pm.  All information prior to that will refer to the week commencing 19^th December.  The look up tool will be updated again at around 6pm on 30^th December to reflect the changes for the week commencing 2^nd January 2012.

Household Recycling

Adur and Worthing Council Services will not be operating household recycling collection services on 26^th/ 27^th December or 2^nd January.  Please remember that your recycling day will move with your refuse day, but the fortnightly frequency of collection will be maintained.  Please refer to your collection calendar (http://www.aws.gov.uk/whatismybinday/) for confirmation of your collection days.

Garden Waste

The final garden waste collections will take place on 23^rd December for 2011.  Garden waste collections will be suspended during the weeks commencing 26^th December and 2^nd January and will restart on 9^th January 2012.  For wheeled bin subscribers these two weeks are those that are not included in your annual subscription.

Christmas Trees

A free kerbside Christmas Tree collection will operate from 9^th January 2012.  Please leave your tree in a safe and visible place for collection on your normal collection day for the crews to pick up.  Please ensure that the tree is completely stripped of decorations as these are sent to a composting facility for reprocessing and it cannot cope with angels or tinsel! For large trees it would be helpful if you could cut them into smaller pieces.

Commercial Waste

Limited services will operate on 26^th/ 27^th December and 2^nd January by prior arrangement only

Clinical Waste

Please refer to table below for arrangements over the holiday period:

Cleansing

No service on 25^th December.  Service limited to retail areas only on 26^th/ 27^th December and 2^nd January.  Normal scheduled residential cleansing will be suspended in the week commencing 26^th December, but certain areas will receive an enhanced deep cleansing service instead.
