General information about recycling collections

  • Recycling is collected from most houses with wheelie bins fortnightly
  • Recycling from town centre rounds is collected weekly
  • Most houses have a wheelie bin which has a blue lid and is embossed with two dots for their recycling

Putting your recycling out ready for collection

Once sorted your household waste must be put out on the front boundary of your property close to the pavement in a clearly visible location (or in your bin store if that's where it's normally collected from) ready for collection by 6:30am on the morning of your collection day, please avoid blocking paths or other public areas - if you do not know your collection day, please see When is my bin day?

To help protect the people collecting your recycling from injury

Please be careful how you dispose of any broken glass and sharp objects.

To help protect your local neighbourhood

Please ensure that all items you put out for collection are put out neatly and will not be easily blown around or spread about by animals and birds.

Items not taken by the recycling collections

Not all items can be taken by the recycling service, please see A to Z of Recycling for what we can accept and how to dispose of other items.
